Whole Wheat Spaghetti with Meat Sauce in the Ninja Cooking System

I love using the Ninja Cooking System for pasta. It makes cleanup easy and I can get on to enjoying my family with their happy, full bellies. The second recipe in the Ninja Cooking System cookbook shows how to make spaghetti and meatballs in 30 minutes flat. But I quickly figured out a recipe adjustment so I could serve whole wheat spaghetti with meat sauce.

This recipe is similar to the Ninja Cooking System recipe for spaghetti & meatballs, but instead we've used whole wheat spaghetti with meat sauce. We do love meatballs, but we’re used to eating meat sauce with our spaghetti. And this is one of those dishes where the whole wheat pasta isn’t quite as noticeable because of the flavorful sauce. Anytime I can improve the nutrition in a meal by using whole and natural ingredients, I’m game.

I guess another reason we prefer meat sauce for our spaghetti is because of my husband’s spaghetti eating ritual involving garlic bread. We always enjoy some toasty garlic bread with our spaghetti (sometimes even the bubbly cheesy stuff). The first thing Rob does with his full plate of spaghetti is to make a spaghetti sandwich with 2 pieces of garlic bread. He calls it a Spagwich.

He loves this ritual so much that every time we have this meal, he tries to convince me to open a restaurant that serves his signature Spagwiches. And every time, I tell him, “I enjoy cooking for my family and friends, but making it into a business like that would turn it into such a chore.” I don’t want to ruin my love of cooking! Plus, I’m not going to get into the business of pushing that kinda mess of carbs on people. I’m a salad pusher, not a carb pusher! 😂

I tackle life with enthusiasm and positivity, and I'm on a mission to spread the feel good factor to others. Food is often my tool of choice for making that happen. I realized that it worked for me when my cooking helped me land my husband, Rob. I'm a spontaneous entertainer and always ready for a party.
